George
K. Degnon, CAE, President
During more than thirty-five years of career leadership with
both national and international health care associations, George has
established and directed nationwide government relations programs,
planned and then concurrently managed
the growth and development of more than a dozen national associations
ranging in size from 200 to 2,000 members with annual budgets ranging
in size from $50,000 to $3.5 million. In 1979, George earned the designation
of Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the American Society
of Association Executives, a designation he actively maintains through
teaching and regular attendance at a variety of professional continuing
education programs in association management. Commendations earned
through the years include recognition as one of the outstanding
health lobbyists to the U.S. Congress by Faulkner and Gray (1991 -
1994), the Surgeon General’s
Medallion (1994) for leadership to the nation’s public health
and various Leadership and Distinguished Service Awards in health and
medicine.
Marge
Degnon, Vice President
In addition to her position as Vice President of Degnon, Marge
Degnon has also served as Executive Director of the Ambulatory Pediatric
Association (APA) since 1980. Marge personally directs and administers
over $1 million annually in grants and contracts for programs and services
of the association. APA has over 2000 members throughout 10 regions,
and participates with the pediatric academic societies in conducting
an annual scientific meeting for over 5,000 participants.
Laura
Degnon, CAE, Vice President
Since her appointment as Vice President of Degnon in 1999,
Laura Degnon has successfully combined a full-time career in association
management with the completion of a degree in Business and Management,
Cum Laude, from the University of Maryland. In 2002, Laura also
completed a four-year advanced association management training program
conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization
Management. In
addition
to her
corporate
responsibilities,
Laura serves
as the Executive Director of both the Association of Pediatric Program
Directors and the International Society for Quality of Life Research,
and as Associate Executive Director of the American Psychosomatic Society.
In December 2005, Laura earned the designation of Certified Association
Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives.
